Bryan Shaw (RP, White Sox, 1% owned yahoo)

Bryan Shaw nabbed the save yesterday for the White Sox, and Gregory Santos is out on the IL. Shaw is a speculative saves add, and he’s been fine over the last 2 weeks with a 2.16 era and 1.08 whip and 11ks in 8.1 innings. Shaw has an uninspiring 4.65 era and 1.30 whip on the year, but potential saves are potential saves where you’re desperate in that category.

James McArthur (5% yahoo) /Taylor Clarke (2% yahoo) (RPs, Royals) 

James McArthur and Taylor Clarke have each nabbed saves over the previous two days for the Royals. James McArthur holds a 0.98 whip on the season and has a 0.00 era with a 0.16 whip with 2 saves and 13 Ks over the last month. Clarke has 3 saves over the last month but holds a 5.19 era and 1.27 whip in that span. This is an active situation to monitor and make adds on where you need saves if this is what’s best on the wire. McArthur holds SP/RP designation, which is a bonus for weekly lineup change settings. I lean McArthur.
