Let’s just call it what it appears to be: The Lakers have run out of gas. D’Angelo Russell and Dennis Schroder have been more invisible than Casper, Jamal Murray is hotter than a sizzling fajita skillet at your favorite Mexican restaurant, and when Nikola Jokic is a footnote and the Lakers still can’t figure it out, it’s not a good sign for what’s about to come. The Lakers are caught somewhere in between thinking about what’s next and trying to stay present to take at least one game in these Western Conference Finals, but it’s going to take more than just Anthony Davis or LeBron James—or even Austin Reaves—for LA to have it their way at least one time vs. a better Denver team. Lakers came out in full force in Game 1 vs the Golden State Warriors in a hardfought 117-112 victory that easily could've gone either way. Anthony Davis continues to be a dominant, Shaq-like force to the tune of a 30/20 game with 4 blocks.
